Two-Oh-One-One

Hui Ting wishes all a very happy 2011. Let's usher the new year with full blitz of awesomeness and fresh hopes!

I spent the last day of 2010 with college friends, going through a crazy bit of road drive and drama outside people's house, and finally, randomly ended up in a park drinking beer while looking at fireworks from a distance. 3.45am driving alone on the way back home, the aftermath of a tired mind forged an array of thoughts; resolutions for the new year and reflection for the old.

In short, terrible moments of hardship during 2010 made me anchor my actions and thoughts in life to a purpose I take accountability to my ambitions and aspirations. Although there are unbearable moments of difficulties, I thank God for giving me those challenges that produced a better result of me, better than I deserve, in fact. As for 2011, I would want a blast. With a challenging Pt 1 syllabus, increasing Rotaract responsibilities, additional number of tuition students; my life would require me twice the amount of effort, twice the amount of balancing skills, twice the amount of discipline, twice the amount of efficiency. Scary, but I'll make this my challenge for the year.

That humble opinion aside, I still materialistically, want those awards, the recognition, the applause and the stage.

Christmas

On Christmas eve, I fell sick. I had diarrhea and vomited twice on the bathroom floor after I abruptly woke from my sleep during midnight, and I literally camped the toilet for a few hours. Seriously dehydrated and lacking rest, I had fever. My head and body ached all over and the slightest movement caused so much pain I have to strand myself on the bed. I slept for six hours in the empty house, didn't even bother to switch on the lights when night falls, didn't even eat a single thing for the whole day. It was Christmas eve, the whole family was out. I was depressed, angry, alone and in agony. I felt I was treated unfairly, and I was all alone when I needed support and care the most. Fury and anger overwhelmed me eventually.

But stop, and I thought for a second. I closed my already tired eyes and prayed. It is Christmas, and as it goes, remember the reason for the season...

When the time struck 12, I was glad that there were messages either to return me wishes and greetings, or for comfort. I was laughing when rolled inside my sheets, holding my phone, checking messages on Facebook and SMSes. The next day, Christmas, I felt better after a few painkillers for the head, and I was fine by noon. We had family dinner together and I was happy that my prayers were answered and I had a good time with my family.


Christmas, is about faith, the Saviour who died for all our sins. I thank God for everything He has ever blessed me, and the prayers in my life which He answers. Miracles happens, and I'll continue to live my His image and be awed with the wonders He creates in my life. =)

Fifth October Two O One O, Twenty One Years

I thank you, my parents, for bringing me into this life. Mum, for raising me up and being by my side for each and every 21 birthdays. My siblings, for growing up with me and sharing life together.
Twins, BFFs, for the guitar clip all the way from Paris. I am touched by the effort of practicing, recording, compiling and sending it over. Not to mention you're only 2 week new to the course.
Chris, ZQ, Kang Zhi, Amirah, Fern. Thanks for the wishes and being my trusted friends since high school. I miss you guys.
Liz, my buddy since 6 years old. From the days of colouring our nails with colour pencils till now: the days we talked over the phone about guys, love, people....everything. Loves.
My high school and Form 6 friends,sending all whishes from different states. Thank you and I miss you guys. Let's gather soon.
My college friends who celebrated the day for me. I'm grateful. Von, Sue Ann: PCG rawksz! Audrey, Soo Wen, thanks for being the best advisers. Bird: thanks for being the birdXD. Above all, I thank God for blessing me with 21 years of life; a life with moments of great happiness and greater challenges to grow. For everything He had provided me, I truly thank His blessings and pray for continuing days of growing myself in His image.

5 Days to Go

21 wishes for my 21st

1. A car, so that I won't have to waste time travelling by train to class.
2. A Macbook, in which should be given to reward my Inter results.
3. 280 marks and above for Part One, in which I will work hard for.
4. Criminology textbooks, which come in sparse in college library.
5. My exisitng Astro subscription to include movies, for fun.
6. Bobbi Brown colour palette.
7. DKNY Delicious, ever since 2006.
8. An easel, and the liberty to pursue my hobby to paint during my free time, which come in limitation nowadays.
9.Improve in terms of relationship with mum, to achieve things in life which would make her proud.
10.More time to spend with my siblings, where my busy schedule had neglected time spent with them.
11.To love my family more, especially grandma, who always wanted to teach me how to cook but I don't have time to learn.
12.Continuing support from all my high school friends, whom I greatly miss.
13.To have a long lasting friendship with Yoong Sin and Yoong Ling, my best friends in the whole world.
14. Continuing support and advice from my college friends, especially Soo Wen, who always motivate me; Sue Ann and Von, my study partners.
15. Well balanced skills in time management and prioritising, so that I can carry out Rotaract duties with competency without the compromise of studies.
16. To know more people and make new friends.
17. A getaway to an island alone.
18. To obtain the UK experience during my life as a law student.
19. The ability to dream and believe in myself, my abilities and potential, to ignore those who doubt me with their limited knowledge and beliefs.
20. To be healthy.
21. To grow closer to God, to cherish and be contented with His blessings, that by Him, I am one special person who He plan great things for me, that I can achieve the life I want and be happy for my life when I continue to grow by His image.


See, I'm a very humble person with minimal material needs one ok? WAKAKA. But this list is not exhaustive la, and if you feel that you can make me happy by fulfilling my wish, come on and select your number. I'm joking la ppl, but still, I'm legally 21yohoo!

My Birthday

Of all, I would like to extend my most sincere gratitude to all friends and family who celebrated and wished me on my birthday. You have made my day and made my birthday memorable and special. HUGS and KISSES! I love you much much much much!

Yesterday Michelle, Henry and Bryan celebrated with me by treating me a movie in Times Square. Loves <3 Though I freaked out and screamed myself mad throughout Sorority Row, I pretty enjoyed myself. Free food and free movie elehhh....Special thanks to to Henry's aunts who paid for food. =)

This afternoon during lunch break my class celebrated with me. Sue Ann baked a cake for me with pink icing and my name. =) LOVE <3 The cake was nice. I am very touched and very happy of course. I even said my birthday wish out loud XDXD

Later we went to Old China for lunch, which is one of the most expensive places to dine in in Petaling Street. But this is a place I highly recommend. Nice atmosphere and food. =)

Sue Ann's Birthday

LOL. All of us siaukias were dressed in BLUE, due to the celebration of our darling blue ant aka Sue Ann doraemon's birthday.

Since she loves blue so much (apart from Johnson, ahem), we deployed the theme colour and went to Pizza Hut Pavilion looking like a crazy bunch of Chelsea supporters.

Later in college, we had the cake cutting ceremony in an empty classroom and it was so noisy that we got some lecturer running over and telling us to shut up.

Henry's 20th Birthday

We celebrated Henry's 20th birthday at Green Box Karaoke. I don't sing, yeah, sue me, my voice sucks. No harm joining for the sake of company though. College buddies are people who I love.

Mothers' Day Dinner

It's already past 12 midnight and hence


HAPPY MOTHERS' DAY to dear mummy!

We already celebrated Mothers' Day as a family occasion by gathering for dinner at our beloved steamboat buffet restaurant as if there is no other better place for dining. Anyway, buffet always equals to chuck-in-food-non-stop in my context so I was preaching to my cousins about my buffet rule.

1. Eat fast.
2. Don't stop.
3. Don't drink anything.
4. Take all the expensive stuffs first.

Something like that until Mum started to make noise.
My aunt just said:

" Eat la. Eat already, sleep. Tomorrow wake up only talk about going on diet. Now, don't care about all these."


A very pro makan me booked the table by the name of Miss Hee and everyone took it as a joke. =.= Funny meh?


Our table with all the balls in the world (ahem) and all those seafood. Everyone kept taking as if they can eat a lot until they saw the sign saying that leftovers are charged 5 bucks per 100 gram. Mum was the first one to panic.

" How arh? Don't take already. Later cannot finish."

My aunt will be like:

"Don't worry. Sure can finish one. Trust me."

Everyone kept chucing unwanted food to me and it was like " Eh this one who wants? Hui Ting, Nah!" Chucks into my bowl. I was like dot dot dot. LOL. In the end, I was full like nobody's business because as usual, I eat like a pro. XD


The pile of shells on my table was the highest pile and Mum was complaining about it. Who cares? =P

I am so full, even now. Definitely, it had been a long dinner. Everyone was like: Phew, cannot breathe. Happy Mothers' Day again to all. =)

Many waters cannot quench love; rivers cannot wash it away.

It's a perfect day to get married, I shall say. Weather conditions are awesome and my mood is cheerful. (as if I am getting married LOL) Today is the auspicious day of Dr. Chan Kok Gan and Ms. Yin Wai Fong's wedding, the holy matrimony of two educators. Both Ms. Yin and Dr. Chan had been my Biology tuition teachers, and Dr. Chan is a lecturer at Universiti Malaya while Ms. Yin runs a tuition centre. I should say that both of them looks perfect for each other, and it's a blessing for me to witness them tying the knot. Actually I got a shock when Yan Yan told me that they're going to marry. But since they invited us (their ex students) to the wedding, well, why not?

So the day started with me worrying what to wear. So, I wore a simple skirt with a brown top with 3-inch-heels. Well, I pretty regretted wearing the stupid heels because I hardly can walk fast in it. And it pains too!


Actually I wanted to wear contacts but somehow in the morning, I can't open my eyes big enough to chuck in the lenses. So if I wear glasses just forget about mascara. =D

Zhi Ling drove us there and I have to say, I have not met her in such a long time. So kinda missed her a lot and when I saw her today, I was very happy to see her doing fine in college. Well, at least she has a good life now. Yan Yan and Si Jia are also close friends of mine who I have not met them since errr...last year? I was extremely excited to meet them once again, and we crapped about Yan Yan's cartoon voice and Si Jia's fear of cats and valentine's day as we drove our way to PJ.

We reached First Baptist Church to see a small crowd there. So says that Dr. Chan just wish to hold a small and private wedding ceremony, just inviting close friends, family and students. Hence there were a lot of UM students around too. So as usual, while waiting, just camwhored like mad.

There were other students of Dr. Chan too, just an age younger than us. Yoong Yong and Phiak Ling.

Actually there were more juniors of us but they were busy because they were a part of the choir.

Firstly there was the wedding processional. The bride, which is Ms. Yin, walked down the aisle, given away by her father. Well, she did looked extremely pretty.

Well, Dr. Chan did look very busy today. Seems like he had a lot of stuff to do. Cannot even catch a picture of him standing still. LOL

Afterwards there were prayers, worship in songs, scripture reading and a message by Pastor Tan.

After that, the scene we always see in movies: The exchanging of vows, aka the I do, I do part. Then, exchanging of rings. They bought the rings in Paris man!

After benediction and the wedding recessional, we were treated some refreshments, so, the wedding ceremony ends. I was expecting for Ms. Yin to throw the bouquet of flowers for us to catch, well, seems like I was anticipating the wrong thing.

But I did manage to capture a photo with them! But I looked like shit. Well, who cares anyway?


Lastly I would like to say: Congratulations Dr. and Mrs. Chan for tying the knot. May your love last forever, united in marriage.

PS: The wedding ceremony was very touching. And it just showed me how brave people can be if they dare to love and be loved. They are willing to commit themselves to each another by marriage, till death do us apart...

Another thing Pastor Tan said I felt very true:"...your wedding lasts for a day, but your marriage lasts forever..."

DesaPark City Coffee Bean later with the girls to catch up with the latest gossips. So hence, talked a lot, drank a lot, and was definitely happy with the company.


Loving Coffeebean a lot. Reminiscing about the past where we used to come here to do our study groups. The tension, the mood, the workload. It's all over now. Left my soul with a blank space, never going to be fulfilled.
