Once, We Rocked Maxwell

I was having an online conversation with Darryl that day.

Darryl:
We have to plan gathering before everyone shifts.

Me:
Definitely, someone has to plan.

Darryl:
Yeah.

Me:
And who who freaking decides to absent themselves, can await my writ. i am freaking going to sue.

Darryl:
LOL.

Me:
And if nobody plan, you will. Or I will sue you.

Darryl:
Duh. I do not wish to receive any writ form you....

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Chin Boon Fei is the most useless class monitor I had ever seen in my entire life. XD Dude, you know I am just joking. Eh, but bro, can you just come up with a gathering or some stuff, so that we can meet each other. It has been so long, and I don't even know what the heck most of the class are doing. Maybe someone got married or someone got kids but heh, I want to meet up and talk. Monitor ah, this is your legal duty eh....If you don't plan, I will sue you. LOL.

but seriously, I miss you guys a lot.

I miss morning assembly where we sit on the floor and read.
I miss Bio class where Annie screeches.
I miss Chemistry class where Darryl's name always gets pronounced as diarrhea.
I miss Chinese Society meetings when we all curse the woman in and out.
I miss MUET class where I always got scolded by Sheila.
I miss PA classes where Pushpa always SMSes and calls.
I miss going to the toilet in groups.
I miss skipping class to hanging out in Cekal.
I miss sleeping in class.
I miss eating in class.
I miss spot check where we stuffed our phones to our shoes.
I miss screaming and cracking bad jokes in class.
I miss doing billboard together.
I miss sports day especially cheerleading drama.
I miss planning activities together.
I miss cursing teachers together.
I miss the class. I miss Cekal. I even miss Dinamik and Gemilang. I miss juniors. Bleahhh.....T_T

This is a photo where we took together for Pn. Siow's farewell, one of the most complete class photos I ever have, not mentioning the official class photo in which I looked like crap. Duhhh... Anyway, i had been privileged to be your official camera provider for two years. XD not mentioning being the very syok sendiri leng lui XD

Boon Fei, final warning. No gathering, you jaga-lah.

The Oscars XD

So I went back to Maxwell for Prize Giving. Already predicted some dudes are definitely going to show up, since they had always been performing well. Namely, Mell, Puili, Chaisan, Apichat, Kian, Wai Hong. Darryl told me he would be going last night via MSN, so kinda expected, anyway, he was good though. I think that they wouldnt have expected me to attend prize giving since I had not been 'labeled' as a top scorer during Form 6, while the others were. So yeah. Still, I am the best in MUET, still, better than nothing.

I like to talk to them, know their current ongoings with life and stuff. Mell is in Public Bank, still, with Puili, which was good if you get friends to work together with you. And Darryl sells insurance. =P Chaisan is teaching and hating it. Wai Hong, as usual, is highly affiliated with shoes, and hence he is working in a shoe shop. Seems like I am the only one who had started studying early. But they are better students than I do, and I am pretty sure they will get an excellent offer in public uni. Unlike me. =X

It's good to get connected with friends, knowing that everyone will have different prospects in the future. Those days in Form 6, the atmosphere was different than now. More relaxed now, talking in casual manner. Not like those days, plain fear-of-offend. LOL. I feel like I get to know them from another angle, which was good. Not to say they were not last time, just comfortable now. =D hugs!

After the awards I went to Times Square despite the fact I hate that place with all my soul. Pei told me about the stock clearance in Parkroyal KL but the queue was incredibly long, which was impossible to queue since they lined for 2 hours to gain entrance. Forget bout it, I went Borders and read till Pei and Min finished their shopping and met for lunch.

Me and lagsana.

Dear and chop.

This is a lousy angle. WTH. haha. byt the way it's Brownies with ice cream. I like. =P

Never mind if I did not buy anything during the sale. But i got myself cosmetics too.

Oh not the entire set. Just a eyeliner, eye shadow, lip gloss, blusher and nail polish. Yay, me love. =D

=P Everything goes well as you promised Lord. I did not stumble while wearing those heels.

The Day The Earth Stood Still

After those long hours sitting on the stupid chair which burns my ass, well paid off, because today is the last day of STPM. HOORAY! Which says that it's putting my misery and sufferings to a bloody full stop. And hell yeah I can do a lot of things that I wanted.

After the exams we took a photo at our class. Cherishing the very last moments we would be together as a class. Because as you know, we're going different paths after this and whatever people say about keeping in touch it would be, ahh...a naked lie, because as 'out of sight out of mind' applies very suitably to this condition.

We once had pleasant memories but we still have a future ahead to achieve. I will miss you guys always.

And after that I joined my classmates at Secret Recipe for high-tea (kononnya not lunch because it's already after 4) and planned about the Christmas holidays and new year countdown's party. So much laughter together because after exams I think everyone is like so damn relaxed and fun. =)

Then I went mall marathon with Shin Peih and obviously spent. We went to The Curve, Ikano, Cineleisure and Ikea (as if we want to buy furniture). But also managed to find something to buy in Ikea.

Toilet scrubber also can! Haha. Of course la, I wanted to buy mirror for my newly renovated bathroom. But luckily didn't buy because seems like mum doesn't want me to choose for myself. But still bought some kitchen utensils(I want to cook during the long holidays), notebook, the scrubber and photo frame.

They got all these cool decorations for Christmas at the curve. Check it out!

This one looks like the giraffe wants to eat the leaves of the tall Christmas tree.

The elves. I don't really like this theme. But they made a really creative effort. It looks like everything is green with elves poking here and there.

Me high-fiving the elf. LOL.

This elf is like flying. Exactly what I am feeling now. FLY~~

Outside Cineleisure it's like this. Angels with crooked waists. =P

And there's a moment where it started to snow. Because the angels are like squirting foam out and people started to take photos like mad. WTF? Shin Peih said that it looks sticky and yucky and dirty. 100% agreed.

And in Ikano it's like this.

Haiyeah! I bought some bermudas and a top at Padini. Used about 100 plus plus. But happy because I have bought something.
Then kena hut lah~ 'hah! So many things to buy meh ah you??!!'

But who cares? Exam's over and I am glad that it keeps on this way. Relaxing with meaning is the ultimate joy of life.

PS: There were lots of unpleasant memories that I had experienced in school for the past 2 years. I am glad to leave it. The place and the memories. Really there are nothing worth so meaningful and remembered. Friends, miss you all the time. But the life there is gonna be deleted permanently from my mind.

Twins, you're right. Life's still exciting without it.

MUET Speaking Test

As we students were seen taking much of our time prowling books, revising for the exams, there was also another scene. Students practicing speaking in groups. As our MUET speaking exam drew nearer and nearer, tension is rising. Even those students with high levels of English proficiency were seen practicing. From doing one set per lesson, we have gone to the extent of practicing 4 sets of question per day, plus post mortem., even some groups reduced to staying back after school and practice.

It was until once the MUET teacher bellowed when she entered a class of students, heads down, talking at the top of their lungs.
‘Are you all really that bad? Aren’t you all tired of doing speaking?’

Nobody was amused. It was when Michelle snapped back, in a clear audible voice.
‘Yes. We need to practice. And we’re not good.’

And speaking of Michelle as one of those people with good English.

It was the exam today. Yesterday I went to bed and lay there for what it seem like hours. Yee May said she trashed in her bed non-stop, thinking about the exams. In the morning of the exam, nobody seem wanted to talk much. After the assembly, while the teacher was dismissing the others, she said clearly to the microphone:
‘Session 1 for today’s exam. Please proceed to the library.’

And feeling like my legs are made of marshmallow, I followed the mournful group.
The twins, Zi Qin and Michelle gave me thumbs up and shouted good luck to me. I wanted to thank them but my mouth went dry.

The library was cold, dingy, as one set of lights were broken, and quieter than usual. After the registration, we began to read our notes. Charis, who was unfortunately the first candidate for group one, was in a obvious nervous state. She was clutching her palms and her knuckles were white. When the examiners called for group one, her entire palm went icy cold.

Our group was the last for Session 1. Hence, plenty of time for revisions. I started the rule of speaking English but somebody will tend to break it with the maximum of 5 minutes. We read through notes for about half an hour and got fed up. Then we started talking and laughing, the exam temporarily out of our minds. Then Darryl started a game of exchanging identity cards, and we laughed at Boon Fei’s photo on the card, because he looked weird. And See Bee childhood version looked like a guy. A damn good looking guy. LOL. Next we ate sweets and chocolate and debated about Melamine in diary products. It was when the first group came out from the examination room, we came to the senses that we were still in quarantine, pending for exams.

Yee Toong and Yee May yelped in unision and started to prowl books over their heads. Charis was emerging from the room, looking like a camel. She caught my eye and signaled something, and I was about to catch it when the teacher stared at our direction. Helpless, she left.

Time trickled pass as groups began to flow out of the hall. By no time, only our group was left in the quarantine room. Except for uncontrollable urges for answering the call of nature, escorted by a determined Anita, the rest of the time was reasonably well spent. It was about two minutes left until the examination I began to feel real panic. I was reading the same sentence repeatedly for a few minutes, but nothing seems to go in. Boon Fei began to walk in rounds while mumbling to himself.

It was when the tinkle of the bell in the exam room went I jolted up and adrenaline began to numb my legs. After greeting the examiners unenthusiastically, we sat down and prepared for our task. It was about 5 seconds when I realized that was reading the wrong task.. The examiner pointed out. The question was (I can only remember it sounds like this because we’re not allowed to bring the paper out): The world has gone through a lot of changes. What are the changes in this world that bring to the changes in lifestyle? And for me candidate D, I was supposed to talk about modern medicine.

After preparing for two minutes, (I have only wrote two lines of words), Yee Toong started. She blurted and paused for the first 5 seconds. Even the examiner stopped and stared at her. Then the rest of it, she handled it ok. Boon Fei talked like a pro. Even Yee May can speak well. When it was my turn, I went blank. I crapped about diet schemes and supplements and suddenly had a bullshit idea about practicing it at work, so I blurted it out. And I regretted it instantly, because it sounds stupid and everyone stared at me as if I was mad. Then, I forgot the word anesthetic. I just kept thinking about painkillers and panadols and I can’t find the correct term. It was idiotic. I wanted to talk about productivity and human capital but I forgot the word. In the end of task A I was very pissed.

During task B I seized the chance and spoke my mind. Task B was almost impromptu and I am surprised it yielded better results than the prepared task A. As my confidence peaked I am able to carry out my thoughts in a more organized manner. After the discussion, we came to the conclusion that medicine had brought about the most drastic changes in human life. Although it’s not interactive enough as everybody keep their heads bent over their papers, and spoke in a unnaturally decent manner, with all those ‘sorry to interrupt’ crap. Since when we talked like that? We always yelled ‘shut up and listen’ to each other. But it’s already considered ok, as nobody went totally silent.

Walking out of the hall, I felt reasonably better, and relieved. Everyone agreed that we had excessive English and decided to talk loudly in Chinese. Relieved and happy that it’s over, I went back home.

=) =)

Nausea~

We had rat dissection today as a part of our Biology Practical. Everyone was very happy and excited about it. People were spotted polishing their dissection tools a week before.

XD

Basically these are what they require us for doing the dissection.

Dissection kit, Surgical gloves and mask.

Aaaaaand the rats!

White mice preserved in formalin. And mind you, it stinks! With the 3ply mask, I can still smell the stinking retching rats soaked in the formalin.

Sincerely I think that they have been preserved for decades. They looked horribly like those mice I have seen since the start of the year in the lab.

Firstly we were to let the dead rat lie on the board and pin it, then dissect it dorsal ventrally. Everyone is using a great deal of energy to open up the rats' for limbs because the formalin stiffened the whole thing. I practically just banged the rat on the table and pried it open with my bare hands after a few attempts to open it up with my forceps failed.

And suddenly 'CRACK'. I broke an arm.

It looked like that when we are about to examine the thorax. Yvonne accidentally cut through the heart and blood splattered out. Bloody hell! =D

Yvonne, me and Michelle.

Moving to the abdomen, this was what I got.

Hey, my dissection is one of the best in the class, because my cuts were all clean and direct.

Then for 'extra knowledge' purposes, they urged me to dissect the genitals. Yvonne's and Boon Fei's idea.

These are a pair of testicles. They are from the rat I was dissecting. Eww~~ Yvonne was so excited and keep telling everybody to press them.

Speaking about scientists.

After that, we discarded the dead with dignity. 32 mice sacrificing their souls to the enrichment of the scientific world, boardening the minds of yet another batch of Biology students, who were still naive and curious.

Tour de Palace of Justice

The last time I stepped foot to Putrajaya was during last three years' National Day Celebration. But today, we followed the 6th form council's organised school trip to this federal territory, its transformation towards a smart governmental management centre, undeniably cool.

Our destination was the Palace of Justice. As we sixth formers learn about our country's law and order in Pengajian Am, this place is the best option the school can offer. Previously they used to bring us to the Parliament which is only steps away from school. But this year, things got a little different.

The Palace of Justice: The symbol of justice of Malaysia.

Not wasting the moment, we camwhored as usual. =)

Each of us stood on each pole bearing state flags. I got Kelantan. Kok Weng got Terengganu, therefore he can drive a Mercedes instead of a Perdana. LOL

The place is really grand. Imagine the megabucks they collected from tax payments to build the place. The architecture is Islamic-Arabic, with dome like structures and archways shaped like mosques. :0 The pillars, archways and floors were made of marble.

Marble world.....0_o

The Islamic influenced ceiling.

Archways: fully lit.

While we were happily taking pictures then we only found out that we were not supposed to do so. in fact, if you are 21 and above, then you only have the rights to enter the Palace of Justice.

Ok, keep away the camera. uh-huh....

After a briefing held in the conference room (conference room for judges..imagine us sitting on places the judges are sitting..XD), we went to the library. Since no photos were allowed, so I did not took any. But there are a great deal of law books and some are really old. Zi Qin was searching for some particullar law to sue teachers. LOL. Michelle and I found one in the defamation column. =)

Then, we visited the museum.

I only knew what is a mace then. It represents the authority and prestige of the court. No court can assemble without the mace in present.

The wig everbody's been asking about since the start of the trip.

And the best part was, we got to witness a real court case. It's really unlike those we see on TV. The defendant and the plaintiff took turns to talk politely and there were a great deal of notes shuffling. And there were 5 judges. Even though everyone is Malaysians they still used English as a medium. I thought they were damn particular about this language thing. The case they were appealing is a drug trafficking case. It was really interesting. Everyone was so keen to listen and pay attention. We even went around asking the lawyers about terms we did not understand during the 30-minute break.

Again, no photos allowed.

In the end, everybody learnt a great deal of things and we are clear about our country's justice system.

A trip worth going!!
PS: It's only RM5.

Class Photo

This is it!! Class photo of 6AA and 6AB.

Another shoot.

It's quite difficult to take a perfect class picture. Because everybody seems keen in going home and I have to shout and shout to get everybody together.

And special thanks to Boon Fei the useless monitor, for letting me shout like a madman, eventhough I am not a part of the class committee.

Enthusiastic people like me is hard to find. LOL (syok sendiri-ing)

Try spotting me!

Under My Skin

Seriously, I think I am going nuts. On this humid night, when everyone are dozing their heads off in a fully air-cond room, I am forced to stick my butt on a chair, and bury my head in a pile of Biology books.

So, I told myself, never mind. My mission today, is to finish cellular respiration. And after that, I can just close my eyes and dream about paradise.

The first part was the aerobic respiration and anaerobic respiration crap that I had learnt during SPM. So 5 minutes, that part, done. The next thing was bedazzling. It was glycolysis. (OK, I never paid attention during class.) I have no idea what it was. It's something like a flow chart with a lot of branches.

See I am so hardworking, I did my own notes.

Glycolysis is the process of converting glucose to pyruvic acid. And pyruvic acid will be further decarboxylased and oxidised to form ATP, NADH, FADH2, and carbon dioxide. And ATP will go to the electron transport system and it will produce water and oxygen as end products.

My own notes for Kreb's cycle. The cycle which involves the conversion of Pyruvic acid(3 Carbon compound)to Citric Acid(6C), then isocitric acid(6C) and then further oxidative decarboxylation to alpha-ketoglutaric acid(5C), succinic acid(4C), Fumaric Acid(4C), Malic Acid(4C), Oxaloacetic Acid(4C) as a complete cycle, catalysed by lots of enzymes such as pyruvate dehydrogenase, isocitrase dehydrogenase, fumarase...etc etc...

Thanks to Mr. Krebs.

He got a Nobel Prize for discovering this mechanism.

Next is the electron transport system.
The diagram from my textbook. This, I have not read yet because all those circles and cycles are driving me up the wall.

So, in the end, what we get is energy, CO2 and water. I remember Michelle flinging her hands:"That's it? After one month of boring classes, what we got is just 3 end products?"

Haha...See, God create wonders. Every cell in our body has mitochondria(plural of mitochondrion), which means we have zillions of mitochondria performing the same job everyday. Every cell in our body requires energy. Brain cells need energy for us to think. Muscle cells need them for locomotion. Nerve cells need energy for generating impulses. If any cell in our body refuses to undergo cellular respiration, our entire body will shut down, hence, we get sick, or worse, paralysed.

One cell to build a tissue. One tissue to build an organ. One organ to maintain a system. One system to sustain an organism.

Isn't life amazing?

Labeled: The Behind People

Today we got a new label.

THE BEHIND PEOPLE.

Because, during MUET, Michelle, Ish, and me normally would not copy any damn thing. And normally, the teacher would not bother. And no idea why today, she suddenly wanted to check our work. And she wanted to check from behind.

Oh, man. It was DAMN obvious that she was not happy with us.

And she said:"those people sitting behind, you think you are all smart alecks, who do not need to copy my work?"

And THE problem was, her so called 'notes', are directly from our text book.

So, what's the point of spending RM13 on a book, and I have to spend another RM1 for pen and RM3.50 for testpads, just to transfer the same thing? OMG, doing double work, wasting time, wasting money.

And she kept saying that:"I am worried about the behind people, that they can't do well, and I will get the bad name."

And THE problem is, we 3 are good in MUET. Those people whom she LOVED, sitting INFRONT, listening to every damn word she says, copying every damn note she wanted, can't even perform well.

Not trying to boast. It's that, don't you feel that she's setting the wrong priorities?

She was actually WORRIED about people who can score who never did her work, rather than people who did her work and still cannot score.

Please-lar

And the behind people thing is getting to my nerves.

Kabilan said, we should start a club called KKC(Kelab Kutuk Cikgu). I suggested KBC(Kelab Bunuh Cikgu).

We should make a movie, called the behind people.

Enjoy~lol.

Fabulous Friday

A lot of things happened today.

PART 1
First we had a trip to 8TV.

8TV is my favorite TV channel. So I am very excited to visit their broadcasting studio. It's in Bandar Utama, just next to 1 Utama. Oh anyone living in KL should know this.

This guy, Azwar is the facilitator leading us through the trip. According to him, Media Prima is the big umbrella and underneath it is TV3, 8TV, TV9 and recently NTV7 is going to join them. They also have 2 radio stations namely Hot FM and Fly FM. By the way, NTV7's studio is still in Glenmarie but their offices are already in the media prima building. Actually, 8TV's lisence was bought from Metro Vision after they ceased their operation.

Mr Azwar briefing.

I really salute Mr Ahmad Izham Omar, the CEO of 8TV. He thought about the public and did a survey and found out that what they need is for the urban and chinese market. So they imported the best series and shows from all over the world. Like the some of the Korean dramas, reality shows and stuff. Their braand manager is constantly in and out of the country seeking for new shows. Well, he also kinda believed in the local entertainment industry while everyone thought it was non-profitting. He started to support and brought bands together. Made local dramas. As a result we can see bands like OAG and local dramas like Goodnight DJ, Ghost, Kami.....Reality shows such as One in a Million, I wanna be a Model are their home made shows.

Well, I am quite impressed.

Next we had a studio tour. 8TV only had 2 studios, the Quickie set cum E News set and the Mandarin News set. The other studios they have are of TV3 and 9TV.

Actually the Quickie and the E News are 2 stes in a studio. It's a multiple camera studio. They shared the studio, the camera, and the lighting and stuff. And it's actually very small. Azwar told us that it looks big on TV because of the lens of the camera. You actually look 10kgs more on TV. Wow.. That explains why some celebrities look better in real person than in TV. Blame the camera.

The Quickie set.

The E News set.

Four of us at the Quickie set. Haha...with Azwar talking behind us.

At the legendary mini cooper at the E News set. By the way, this Mini Cooper just only have the front. The back had been chopped off...haha

All girls. You know it's like a lot of cameras. So we had difficulty to focus on which cam. hehe...like celeb.

We saw Phat Fabes on the Fly FM studio. And a DJ from Hot FM. Cool..... Mr. Ng said Phat Fabes was previously a Maxwellian.

Hot FM DJ. Blur photo coz we were separated by a glass window.

Phat Fabes making funny faces.

We toured the Mandarin News set too. It's also used as a Green Room. It means the green backdrop can be used as any background. It's so small, that we have to tour the studio 10 by 10.

News readers!!

There are some small facts that I think I would like to share. Their best ratings series are the Desperate Housewives. And their Brand Manager went through a a lot of trouble to get license to broadcast Year 4. Gossip Girl is getting more attention. Buying the license from Idol to hold Malaysian Idol is extremely costly, even the brand is there. It cost them all of their sponsorships. That's why they switched to their home made singing reality shows like One in a Million.

Bubbles!

Mr Ng and the go travel cute little cartoon. Haha...

This trip is very enlightening and eye opening. I am glad I abandoned my Chemistry experiment in school and followed the team. Hehe...

Group Photo!! Everyone is looking at different directions. What la!

PART 2
Next, we went to 1Utama. Because we are finally meeting Chris, Kang Zhi and Chui Geok after soooooooo loooooooooooog. Wah!! I really really missed them sooooo much.

We went TGI Fridays for lunch.

My Friday's Burger.

Yum~~

Chicken fingers.

The sundae.

And we watched Prince Caspian. And the funny thing was, the movie started with the lady giving birth to a prince. So she was like screaming. And dunno why the twins started laughing. Then I laughed too because influenced by them. They have problem man...always laughing when they see violent scenes. Last time when we watched Hannibal Rising, same case. They were watching the 18PG like it was a comedy. Man I tell u. Frighttening!

But really really, I enjoyed spending time with them. It's bringing back the best memories of my school life. They are friends I cannot possibly forget.

Hope there will be another time like this.

Friends for life!!
