Convocation and Awards Ceremony

I've been sleepless for the past nights thinking of Convocation and what I'm gonna wear. Nope, it's not my Convocation, but I attended in the capacity of an award achiever. 2000 bucks for outstanding Intermediate results. I'm happy, proud of myself and most importantly, motivated to ahieve greater heights next year.

Mum wasn't able to make it so I thought never mind, but manatau she drove off the only car in the house, and I was left speechless, worrying about transport. Yes, in the nic of time worrying not about my hair or shoes but my mode of transport. Brilliant. Next, it was the fact being stuck at KTM worrying about whether the train will arrive late or not. Later, when I arrive at KLCC, it was worrying about the fact whether I'll slip on stage or not. Yes, I was anxious for no reason. Everytime something big hits, I'm always nervous.

That aside, I saw my friends there, some came to receive awards, some graduated, congrats. Some came to perform. Rotaractors came to sell flowers by convention. Some came to volunteer. But all, I'm sure haboured the similar mindset, which is by witnessing glorious moments of recognition of such, we will get motivated, inspired and encouraged to inject effort in whatever we're doing now so that next year, we can similarly, go up stage with heads held high, listening to the thunderous applause from the audiences. At least when I received my award from Prof. Wayne Morrission, I felt so. I felt the overwhelming emotion, the surge of motivation, amidst the mixture of emotions, the settled fact si that I want it to happen, and I want more.

I felt happy because it was a proof to myself that I have did my duty as a student, and I performed it well. I wished my family was there to share. As a conclusion, it was one of the happiest moments in my life.

Above all, I thank God for His grace and everlasting love, for repeatedly blessing me with wonders, and forgiving me for the bad I've done. My family, for the support by any means. My friends, for actively (or passively XD) encouraging me. Tutors, for all the knowledge and guidance. Last but not least, Rotaractors, for the flowers (although you guys made a great deal of noise when giving the bouquet to me, but nontherless, you all gave, with a few stalks pluck out. Hehe.), and for giving me the support of attending the ceremony, ancilary to the purpose of selling flowers.

To the greatest bunch of people in the world, thank you.

Getaway

Studying in the library gets routine till the point the initial stress was, significantly greater than now. Call it a loss of momentum, or confidence gained in time. I felt myself losing grip on the hiatus of revising and fighting for the last few strands of time left. Funnily, I wished I was back then, racing against time and nothing else, besides reading over and over again, matters.

Speaking about time, three days left folks.

When I was reading general defences this afternoon I suddenly had a vision of myself on the beach, with all my books, under palm trees and sand on my feet. Which was like whoa=) Three days running and I'm staring to hallucinate. Geez.

Little things that makes life orgasmic. I wished I was back then, where I don't know who you are.

Stronger

No regrets of going to this place for law. I have deleted so many entries again and again. In short, I love you: Von, Sue Ann, JJ, Soo Wen, Daniel, Bird, Henry and everyone else who I feel your sincerity. Listening, is great help. At least for my case.

The thing that I've always dreaded happened again. I'm so close in letting myself giving in for little things until I halted myself and STOP!!!! Look at were are you stepping to Hui Ting! Don't ever be sidetracked by insignificant stuff! It's quite a cliche to feel gloomy these days. Happens every other day. If it's not for exam stress it would be nonsensical jealousy, or the dilemma of familial responsibilities, or even PMS, or bitches. I lack energy, I think. I just want to go to bed because I feel tired after crying.

But the Hui Ting I knew is tough, brave and determined. So, if life give me CHALLENGES, so CHALLENGES will make me tougher, make me a fighter, strengthen my willpower, make me a better warrior in the course of life.

"When you feel like giving up, remember why you held on for so long in the first place."

To (whatever challenges including arseholes who have the potential to ruin my willpower) YOU, I'll never GIVE UP, not even in your fucking face of ignorance, not even in adversity, not even in a million years! You dream on and fuck out of my life. I need to be in constant positive energy of motivation, in the atmosphere of belief and encouragement. Not of the attitude of non-appreciation.

I quote Dr Seuss:

And will you succeed?
Yes! You will, indeed!
(98 and ¾ percent guaranteed.)
Kid, you’ll move mountains!

Revision Month

With the month of March approaching its end, I daresay it's one of the most fulfilling time I had ever had in my life. Although studying and revising is kinda burdensome and routine and it gets boring after some time, but it's a responsibility too heavy to shake off, I think.

Mum has been nagging on me spending too much time in college. She actually told me to get some life in which I went totally speechless. Well, I do feel I get tensed up when it gets to revision and I get frustrated easily. But it's just the agony of the moment. I still continue in giving tuition, despite friends telling me to stop in order to concentrate in studies. I watch CSI very madly. And I play piano everyday and without fail, spend time to FB. It's not about life like going out meeting friends everyday and having fun. It's about cutting down here and there and substitute the context of fun in other means. Other more convenient, conventional means. Balancing is all about maintaining priorities and slipping in exceptions here and there, with a mindful thought of bearing your own strengths and weaknesses.

I daresay I am a very principled person and I adhere to them. =)

After so long without touching my blog suddenly my hand tergatal-ed hence the post. Or else I won't be more bothered to on the PC because I'm so freaking lazy nowadays.

Oh by the way, I'm cutting down on food and hopefully it turns around as a blessing in disguise nyah nyah~ Personal reasons though, but I'm faithful.

In anyway, I do thank God for everything that had happened because those stuff gave me a contrast to see for myself and choose. Plus, He gave me real good health and insofar friends I've have been sick due to stress, I am perfectly okay despite skipping meals. He gave me correct people who turn up during correct times. Never felt this good before=)

Student Night 2010

By the way, Prom of ATC is called Student Night. Classy la, so to say, but who cares? I don't.

The irreversible been waiting all our lives for it feel for prom sparked during practice for performance. At least to me, I really wanted to put up a great show so that besides all the glam and fab, I have something memorable in my college life's prom night. Undoubtedly other were so pumped up for prom, judging from their preparation process, from choosing dresses to hairstyling to manicure and massages. I spent quite a bit for accessories, being everything is from Diva due to last minute shopping. No choice, spent about 100 bucks just on accessories. I am smart to buy a dress during last year's CNY sale and kept it until now, so saved my attire headache and I wore old heels, believe it. But actually I don't really care about the whole fuss for prom, well, after going to that wretched place for rehearsal and seeing those idiots from SRC work.

The funny thing was, nobody actually brought a camera there. I left mine in my mum's office and Tuan Wern left hers in her mum's car. And everybody else thought everyone else will be bringing so they did not bother to bring theirs. So you get the idea, forgive me for the low quality photos because all were taken from my 3 Mega Iphone camera.

Photo galore ahead though. I apologise.

The Music Club gang.

The study group people @ the fun gang.

My girls.

Here comes the essence of the photos. Juicy, in my context.

The gentlemen.

The ladies.

Another one of the ladies.

With the guys, featuring Daniel aka Uncle Gan, Edwin the musician, JJ the desperado TP, Johnson the businessman and my dear Henry.

Girls here and there. Audrey the opera singer, my darling Sue Ann aka moot partner, Hui Yi aka Jason's woman, Jessica the bully and sweet nice Jane. ^^

In a nutshell, there were just too many photos. but the best thing was we didn't even manage to get a single photo of us performing up there. Duh~ But life must go on.... Hence:

More photos!

We played Mafia wars.

And Black Dahlia.

And the Loan Shark saga continues.

They decided to go phunkhieeee....

But we still have normal photos like these:

Took with people from Muar.

Inter Jan people.

Prom Queen and Prom King. =)

With Mr. Aravind the Evidence lecturer/ Moot judge.

It was one heck of a night despite all unfortunate events which are unforeseeable. Apart from that, I'm happy that our hard work was well paid off, because we did a good job for the closing act. It was one of the best among the years, quoting Daniel. Afterall, it was a great heave of burden off my shoulders, because now I can focus ultimately on studies. Fun had ended with prom, another begins with the next perhaps. It was truly a night to remember.

Re Mahmoud Ispahani

Judging from the title of the post you know I'm reading Contract law, though I dislike it a lot but I don't have a choice.

And you know I'm too stressed out. In fact I spent my fifteen minute break today calling up the twins to rant because the sudden stress was too immense to handle and people in college either don't understand the need to be stressed or they don't give a freaking damn.

I spent some time reflecting my attitude which I think I need to correct them in order to be a better person.
1) I made a mistake for being too frank in announcing my triumph for obtaining the highest mark in the entire intake for Common law. When I think back I think there should be no need for all the drama simply because I'm yet to be the best, and indirectly it had obviously offended people. But my intentions are to serve as an encouragement, no means for boasting intended, really. So if I pissed anyone off I'm sorry.
2) I need to regulate my stress level in a wiser manner because I tend to lose patience and rationality when I'm under pressure. And it is not good because honesty hurts, not just anyone around, but also friendship.
3) I need more concentration!!!!
4) I need more A4 paper because nowadays papers run out so fast.
5) I need sleep badly.

And I found this photo taken ages ago when we are all totally screwed up for last minute revision for december mocks.

Haha! Nice memories=)I thought I was hardworking, but I wasted time as well. Oh wells, let's hope mistake doesn't repeat themselves.

Valedictorian Hui Ting yeah man! Alright!

Check Out The Countdown Box

Time flies. The last moment, I am still fighting the dilemma of choosing colleges, the time spent shopping like a madwoman in Pavilion, the only thing to worry is about where to have lunch. Now it's about the REAL LLB exams in which the schedule was out and stuck on the main notice board yesterday. Where it took me by fright and I nearly stumbled when walking down the stairs, obviously still in shocked mode.

Honestly, I am DEAD scared. No joke. I may walk around as if I know a lot but actually law is something you can never finish studying. So it's about how concise and complete you can cram whatever you have learned into a sixteen page answer within three hours. Which is something I lack: practice. And it's just not the only thing I lack. I am scared because I am unprepared. I know very little as I missed out classes here and there and I do very little research. Well, not that I will fail but definitely it would require more effort to score. Sighs.

It was quite a while I found this fire burning passion to excel hence I stayed in college to revise and research but unfortunately the fire died quite shortly because it was tiring and temptations took over. Now I regret for not persevering enough because if I were to take the extra mile then, it would have made a difference now. So I promise myself to push my physical and mental abilities to the extreme for these 120 remaining days. Doesn't matter if it requires sacrifice, pain or fatigue. Fun time has ended long ago and I had more than enough of play time, and now, it's time to get work done. Yay! I have to feel happy for myself for loving law=)

The enthusiasm starts by pulling out books and spreading across notes. Hopefully it lasts. Work! work! work!!

My customised revision calendar for January. I photostated for each member in my revision group, with the hope that they appreciate my hard work.

I pray hard for success. Because if I don't do well, who will? Hahahaha, that's a bit syok sendiri. But I have the confidence in myself to score. I just have this little philosophy about kiasu-ness. Maybe you might be wondering why I am talking all about my studying and revision progress and maybe you will be asking why I am telling everyone in the world what I am and will be going to revise later on. Maybe you might also be wondering why I show my notes to my friends, my research work, my timetable, like sharing almost everything. I just think that many would believe that studying is personal, and definitely it is, and exams is about competition, which obviously isn't. The kiasu-ness in a lot of people rendered me in quite a blur state, but actually I don't blame people for being a little self centered when it comes to things like this. I however would beg to differ, because I believe in synergising success, the power of multiplying outcome by cooperation of input. So i wouldn't hesitate to share whatever I know with other fellow classmates, eventhough they do not do the same to me. I had thought about how unfair things would get before, but it came to me that, whatever way people behave, they should not change the way I act. Because if I in turn wanted revenge, and act equally kiasu, and in the end, I would be one of them. Haha, Hui Ting is no such person. I know if I have a generous heart, I will get rewarded accordingly. God works in miraculous ways. =)

I am in a pretty good mood today. Maybe it's the long nap I had this afternoon. Maybe it's the fact I've finally got back the enthusiasm for studies. Maybe it's the inner peace I managed to achieve after struggling within issues of blending in and principles I vow to stand by. Maybe it's after watching too much supernatural. lolz.

The Moot Post Mortem

I don't know how to properly say this. I had deleted so many entries again and again.

What happened this evening was, we lost the moot. I was upset and disappointed and it's totally normal to feel so, being we had already invested effort and time in it. Firstly, I was upset because I felt that my best wasn't good enough. I could do this better, and if I had lost in such circumstances, I would not be this disappointed. Albeit all the formal: " Never mind, you are already good. You did your best and take this as an experience." speech, I was hoping just anyone, anyone apart from my moot partner, to feel for me, to carry my emotions, and to understand how I had felt and why my disappointment was of such. Though you can say like: " Oh being upset is useless because you did lose." or " So what if you lose, buckle up and do better next year." I know that yes, I should stop mourning and whining about losing and start growing up. And yes, please also be understandable that the taste of failure isn't nice. It's more bitter than I've thought. I know that doing so wouldn't change anything. It is easier said than done. I thought I can be strong and I can move on. But I cannot. I felt I had let myself down, I had failed the expectations of my fellow peers, I had not been the best partner for my partner. I would want someone to feel me. Because I am tired in indulging in disappointment, nor I would like to hear anyone just saying how is this going to change anything. Yes, time would never rewind. I just need someone to hold my hand and tell me: "Yes, yes, this is bad. I understand this. Everything is gonna be fine. Everything is going to be okay." It's this simple, yet, nobody told me. No one.

Secondly I was upset because I felt there was no one there to console me after I had lost. This may be a very selfish thought, but regardless, I felt unappreciated and unimportant at that very moment. I was upset and I was unhappy, and people can be worrying about lunch and company and whatever else. Taking no notice of my feelings. I needed attention and I received none. And of all assistance that I had paid, I get no favour in return. I am not demanding for anything else, just a moment of company, a little bit more attention could had made me felt better. But I was subsidiary as lunch was so important at that time. Like whatever. Perhaps I may be sounding all fucked up but insensitivity is intolerable this time. I was furious and I was on verge of tears. Maybe people may think I can sort this out, I am independent but in times like this, I need assurance and encouragement and all that I know was being let down by people, again and again. This moot is very important to me, and yet, being so insensitive here, it's like, sigh. Things would have be better if something more was done. I wouldn't be feeling so sucky right now with this total fucked up mood right now. I would have known, I would have been consoled, encouraged, appreciated, recognised and respected. All I know now is that I am alone, moping round a fallen battle, unseen and unknown.

Nobody likes the feeling of failure. I will be better and I will be mooting next year, definitely. I would be better and more prepared. This mooting journey had set me and my partner in a roller coaster ride of a near litigation experience, really, one heck of an experience. I grew and I learned in the process. I gained an experience like no one else, I do thank God for showing the way as always. Sue Ann, my moot partner for everything. Cai Lee, Mich, Pek Kwan, Henry for encouragement and advices, and listening to me rant. Fellow mooting teams for everything. Some people here and there for help and support. I have realised one thing that, in anything I do, I have to give in my best and regardless the results, I would be glad because the journey was a fulfilling one. For now, I can concentrate back on my studies again and yes, I'm so gonna do this again.

Sunday SPS and Shopping

I always wonder why they have classes on Sundays because it is obvious that no one wants to attend but anyway I attended, late for an hour and flustered from top to toe, still in yesterday night's sleep top and hair tied with a pasar rubber band. Room 3MN was extremely cold and I ended up sleeping behind there with a pile of tissues stuck in my nostrils. Those minutes where I was awake was spent playing Pac Man on my Iphone.

Random picture taken from my seat at the back during Common Law. Was kinda pilot test for my Iphone's camera.

Then I'm off to Times Square after lunch to meet with Xuan dear. She came back from Sarawak for her sem break.

Me, IPhone baby, Xuan dear.

And we ate like nobody's business.
First at Room Eighteen.

Xuan with Sai Mai Lou whatever la.

Me with xut shan fei wu.

Yay!

Second destination. Sweet Chat.

Smiles =)

Another one with smiles =)

Food makes us smile hahahahaha!

Xuan dear gave me kek lapis, some kinda local food from Sarawak. Niceeeee! I am extremely happy for the fact now everyone who I love dearly is back in KL and it only means: PARTY!! Twins are already back as well as Zi Qin and most of Maxwell dudes. Life has just gone better, for me at least. =)

Nyah~

19th Annual Tun Hamid Omar Moot Court Competition

After all the drams behind the moot court competition, the results for preliminary rounds were announced after our last round of mooting session this morning. The first round against Edwin and Cheng Yee went haywire a bit because Sue Ann and I were super uber unprepared and we went panicked. Hence we lost the first round. I admit I was a little upset seeing our effort was kinda wasted because of panic. However we buckled up on our second round and we won the case and the moot as well. The best thing was we were qualified to the semi finals, which was quite unexpected. I was very happy because it definitely means our effort was well paid and acknowledged. We did put lots of effort behind this moot competition, as well as sacrificing much. When I knew for the fact our moot journey is not ending at this stage, my heart takes a little flip, appreciative that I had been given more chances of improving myself. =)

Sue Ann the my moot partner. Senior counsel for the appellant. She got the best speaker during our second round of mooting.

Besties who mooted. =) Those who lend me a place to sleep and took care of me when I got hung over. Thanks buddies. Love you guys.

Inter Mar/April dudes who mooted.

The girls.

With the respondents in the second round.

Actually during the first round the judge was pretty lenient. Just that we freaked out a bit cause we did not properly cite our authorities. The second round, the judge shot us with questions and I was like what the... It was quite pressuring to answer them and I was tembaking most of the time. Well, everything has came to an end, but we still have our semi finals on the 21st. So till then, all the best to us. Praying hard we will get to the finals. =)

The Stay

I have been cracking my head trying to figure out what to write for the common assignment. With ten books on tort flipped opened in front of me and piles of photostated notes, the air conditioned room sounded so silent without a single soul present. The air of the city of KL is wet, windless after the massive downpour during the evenings. The night was bright with thousands of lights from the streets, vehicles and buildings, a view visible from the window of my college. It was 8pm. The sense of soiltude was significant as I sat in silence, trying my best to complete my work. The humming of the air conditioner eventually stopped in an abrupt end, as I began to sense the trickling of time passing as I paused between lines of words to ponder. Urgency seep in, I noticed. I frantically wrote only to listen to the rustling of papers and the scraping of my ball point pen upon parchment as my hand skiddled across my assignment. Page after page, I concentrated on my work, noticing my eyes were straining under tremendous load of concentration, as my contact lenses began to dry off and sting the corners of my eyes. It was 9pm, and finally, I completed my case study, with the utmost feeling of fleeting triumph. Quickly packing my stuff, I exited college to find myself walking on the rain-washed streets of China Town, on the way back to a place where I know I could anticipate a hot dinner and a cooling shower, a place where I called it my home.

Pulau Redang Getaway

Always a fan of the beach, I couldn't say no when Michelle organised a trip to Pulau Redang, furthermore with the company of a bunch of crazy college whose true colours showed during the trip. Don't ever ever assume that law students are boring because what they do is relate facts, cite cases and debate non-stop, because heheh..really, a three-day experience with them have earth-shattering impacts which will change my perceptive towards them. Forever. Anyway, in the positive sense, because they are cool and funky people with their unique sense of humour. This trip, serves as the wildest and craziest ice-breaking session of the year.

We reached Kuala Terengganu at the break of dawn for breakfast before our boat ride to the island. They have a China Town there though not really that big and happening if were to compare to ours here in KL.

Alley.

The entrance.

Random. Look at the clouds =)

We managed to sing some songs on Johnson's guitar's accompaniment, and suddenly found out that many of us actually knows how to play that instrument. Good job good job.

Johnson and Henry.

Random.

A lame attempt to play hainan jifan (Hainan Chicken Rice) lolx.

Nobody actually enjoyed the boat ride to the island. The ride was bumpy, and the seats were not spacial and my ass hurted like nobody's business.

The current created by the speeding boat. Amidst the blur Ee Von managed to spot dolphins. O.o Amazing.

When the landscape changed....

Everyone began to feel excited when the waters turned from the initial deep navy to lighter azure blue.

WE ARE IN REDANG MAN!!!! WHEEEEEE!!!!

The seawater which was clearer than swimming pool's chlorine saturated artificial clear water.

Feels like jumping into the water and kickass swim like a fish. Sounds cliche but it was everything that I wanted to do. At that instant.

After dumping our luggage into our respective rooms (There was a drama about who sleeps with who especially regarding someone very unpopular people), we staged our Playboy cover shoot Redang version. (Quoted Ee Von)

Shot #1

Featuring Henry as Playmate ==

Featuring Johnson as Playmate #2 LMAO

This may look familiar because it is the more more tea inn featured in a film ages ago I think.

3 idiots. XD

The beach (Orgasmic one) Pictures galore ahead.

I love this picture the most! (Credits to Johnson)

And don't you know that snorkeling was superb? Underwater, I just cannot hear a thing, and set me into a relaxed stupor. The coral reefs stretched miles across the seabed, colourful and swaying with the current. The fish swam in shoals, I stretch my hands to touch, felt cool water on my skin, the sun shining above sent rays on the garden of corals, heaven-like, peaceful and serene. Oh man, I love snorkeling. Too bad I don't have the whatever casing for underwater photography or else I might as well take photos. The marine park underwater scenery was good except for the eel part. I screamed like a moron and embarrassed myself when the stupid eel came out from the hole. It was enormous and weird looking okay?

During the night when the beach gets eerie, lots of night activities are provided (up to your own creativity ahem) which includes karaoke. Bleahh I suck in singing.

And to sit at Laguna and enjoy their live band, who sang Womaniser in the end. Ter za dao a bit =='' Johnson ordered this Pina Colada which tasted nice, like candy XD

And clubbing on the beach. honestly I am not much a clubber, merely following friends. A very excited Henry to show off his dancing skills == and James , stripping skills XD

A bit potong stim la there, saw some unwanted people.

The shack lmao, really it's a tent. With a cool DJ, loud music, head spinning lights and a funky crowd.

Another one.

Sudah hampir mabuk look. Of free martinis and beers. ==

Another night everyone was playing uno cards and decided to give it a twist so that the game carry more weight. So they decided that the loser will have to kiss Jason.

Lucky him.

Then another penalty was to run along the beach dressed...

like this.

Hilarious.

Later we played drama until 3am. James stripped like a pro. Jason and Jun Hon, unbelievably have amazing drama skills. (I didn't know that, guys. All the while you were so quiet, and innocent. Now, totally the contrary.) The acting thing was superfreakinglicious funny, and they still refuse to award me the best actress duh...

And not forgetting this as a tribute to my sis-in-law. LMAO. Von, country hair, country hair.

Now in KL, I am very the bored and already missing those carefree days in Redang. Besides the leisure, guys, LLB Inter 2009 rocks my socks. College life is starting to show its wonders, and you people had made it pleasant to live those boring, law and facts saturated classes by just being my classmates. HAHA! To all of you, I miss you guys a lot. Can't wait for classes to resume on Monday. PS: Don't call me tank weih. =='' I miss those days in Redang where people like you crack dirty jokes during lunch, stage inadvertent plays before bedtime, relate nonsense to everything in life, twist words and facts. You guys are funnieh! BLOODAH!!! *Insider's joke*

Till then peeps. Loving you guys! Please read for Contract paper. HAHA!
Though cliche to say, but FRIENDSHIP FOREVER.
